Scope
Hardware bring-up, hardware description, debugging, kernel upgrade, platform development, production installer, boot variables
  1. Board bring-up

We brought up a new IP door access expansion board and validated it. The platform runs on the new hardware.

  2. Hardware fault

We reproduced and diagnosed a fault on the panel, and we documented the path to a fix.

  3. Hardware description

We wrote the board's description. All later kernel and driver work depends on it.

  4. Kernel

We added support for a newer release, so the platform sits on a current Linux baseline.

  5. The platform

We built out the embedded Linux the panel runs on.

  6. Production installer

We built a production image installer. Manufacturing flashes and deploys a new unit with it.

  7. Boot variables

We implemented U-Boot fw_env support. The software reads and writes the persistent variables that track update state and boot counts.
